On the afternoon of December 26, under the sponsorship of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese (Ministry of Foreign Affairs), the Vietnam Association of Global Science and Professionals (AVSE Global) held the award ceremony of the contest Hack4Growth 2020 in Hanoi.
The contest aims to build an innovative ecosystem for the sustainable development of the country, and at the same time enhance the Vietnamese intelligence around the world, and affirm the Make in Vietnam brand.
In particular, in the context of many challenges caused by the COVID-19 epidemic, the contest Hack4Growth 2020 contributes to promoting connections between creators, investors, and businesses; mobilizing the society to join hands to find solutions, overcoming the current challenges with the country.
According to the assessment of the Organizing Committee, the competition projects are based on macro-specific or specific ideas; solutions for technology and processes in many different fields of economy, society, environment, tourism, agriculture, industry, health, education, climate change …
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai Thanh, Director of AVSE Global, Head of the Organizing Committee, said that launched at the end of 2019, the contest attracted more than 200 Vietnamese projects with contestants living and working in 15 countries. The final round of the Hack4Growth 2020 contest took place on October 31st, 10 excellent projects were selected to award.
The Organizing Committee awarded the first prize worth 10,000 USD to “Egreen project – Biogas power development, emission reduction and response to climate change” of the group of Hanoi University of Technology: Hoang Anh, Nguyen Duc Khanh, Pham Duc Tho, Nguyen Cam Van, Trinh Van Cuong.
The second prize belonged to “Agrifood Project – Detecting the condition of plant diseases through images” by Mai The Dung (Da Nang Polytechnic University) and Nguyen Dinh Thien Phuc (student of University of Natural Sciences). Ho Chi Minh City) with prizes worth 7,000 USD.
Third prize in the contest was awarded to “MMM Project – Internet of Things (IoT) Solutions and Services to help combat water, electricity, gas and data analysis to predict demand and lack of shortages in the future ”of members: Nguyen Thanh Cong, Khuat Ba Ha, Tran Ky Quang (LC Vietnam Technology Co., Ltd.) and Nguyen Van Dung (Hanoi High-Tech Vocational College), Do Trong Tuan (Hanoi University of Technology).
In addition, the Organizing Committee of the contest Hack4Growth 2020 also awarded 4 sub-categories of awards: Favorite team, Team with the most creative ideas, Team with the progress at best, the Team has the greatest social influence for the teams that make it to the top 10 finals.
Each team will receive a Macbook Air 2020. In addition, contestants have the opportunity to receive training, investment, product consultancy , and development programs, and many other valuable awards.
AVSE Global is an organization that brings together Vietnamese experts and intellectuals in France and some countries. The association was established with the goal of participating and mobilizing contributions to Vietnam, through organizing many cooperation activities with the country, mainly focusing on projects on education, technology, economy, finance, sustainable development and attracting talent over the years.
